The 5 essential reasons to choose Porter's French Oak Flooring

1. Engineered for Quality

Porter’s sources only ABC grade French Oak. D grade boards are removed from our shipments, ensuring minimal wastage and less ugly knots, cracks & imperfections. Porter's French Oak Flooring is Select Grade, also known as ABC, whereas most oak flooring sold in Australia is ABCD. It is rare to find ABC grade quality in a 260mm wide board.

2. Certified French Origin

Our French Oak originates from the largest state owned forests in France, which have been rigorously controlled and replanted for hundreds of years by the French National Board of Forestry. The oaks are harvested individually, as management of the forests is strict and includes replanting of other species in order to ensure forest diversity and balance.

3. Backed by Duluxgroup QC and Assurance

Porter’s is a division of DuluxGroup Australia, a listed Australian company, and utilises their supply chain expertise in procurement, delivery and quality control.

4. Tried and Tested

We have subjected our flooring to rigorous testing by the Australian CSIRO (AS slip testing and AS fire testing), and SGS, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. Copies of the original test certificates are available on request and further details can be found in the product Specifications.

5. The Perfect Finish

Our floorboards are protected with UV cured Aluminium Oxide clear coat for long lasting protection and a smooth clean finish with a stylish low lustre. To ensure a perfectly seamless finish, Porter’s Finished Floors are tongue and grooved both on the sides and at the ends. The 6mm oak layer can also be sanded and refinished at a future time if required.
