Smoked to enrich the natural tannin colour, then limed to highlight the grain
Boards are fumed with ammonia vapour causing a reaction in the tannin, deepening and enriching the colour. The grain is wire brushed and limed to accentuate the colour and texture.

Porter’s sources only ABC grade French Oak. D grade boards are removed from our shipments. Porter’s French Oak Collection demands the strictest specifications from its suppliers. It is rare to find ABC grade quality in a 260mm wide board. All Porter’s French Oak floors are a luxurious 20mm deep, incorporating 6mm of solid oak over an incredibly stable multi-ply base.
Our floorboards are protected with UV cured Aluminium Oxide clear coat for long lasting protection and a smooth clean finish with a stylish low lustre. To ensure a perfectly seamless finish, Porter’s Finished Floors are tongue and grooved both on the sides and at the ends. The 6mm oak layer can also be sanded and refinished at a future time if required.
